Property Rights Class Action Case Filed Against Missouri Power Companies

Indianapolis, Indiana

On July 25, 2013, U.S. District Judge Nanette Laughrey ruled that the owners of more than 6,000 parcels of land in Missouri can proceed with a class action suit against two electric cooperatives and their technological subsidiaries. She also made several prior rulings that overruled objections raised by the defendants to block progress in this case. Judge Laughrey’s approval of this case as a class action marks a major advancement for thousands of Missouri landowners in this property rights case.
